C-Rats® are to be boxed with enough quart size zip lock bags to support the entire platoon or group you have agreed to support. The box is not to weigh more than 30 pounds. If your group is small enough, a size greater than quart size is acceptable; however, the weight is the deciding factor in all cases with the expectation of having enough C-Rats® for the group.

The design behind this process is to have some assurance that the service member in the front lines has a greater chance of getting your goodies from home. The size and weight is much easier to handle and presents a “grab and go” delivery.
