Join the Team!

We are looking for volunteers who can help in the following positions as Coodinators, Drivers, and Get Involved area.

COORDINATORS

Box Coordinators
A box coordinator takes on the management of a team who assembles a 14x14x14 box of civilian ration baggies for a specific platoon or group. The coordinator:

1. Maintains contact with team members who donate goods or already assembled baggies.

2. Inventories the contents and checks for prohibited items.

3. Controls the weight of the box and prepares it for shipping

4. Coordinates delivery of the packaged box:

a. To the military institution at an assigned day and time, if driver has been security cleared by O.I.®

b. To a designated O.I.® drop location

5. Contacts a member of the pick up team for assistance in delivery

6. Obtains postage funding (about $30 per box)

Grass Roots
Volunteers purchase, or arrange for donations of goods which will fit into quart-size ziplock baggies. Members of these teams work with the Box Coordinator in sorting and organizing the goods into baggies (at O.I.®, we call these C-Rats®
which is short for "Civilian Rations®") - one for each service member in the assigned platoon or group. These team members often choose to write personal messages to be included in each C-Rat®.

DRIVERS

Security Cleared Drivers

These team members consists of security-cleared drivers who contribute to O.I®. by receiving sealed, inventoried boxes and delivering the boxes on to a specific military site, on an assigned day and time, for security inspection.

At present, security clearance is currently available to active and retired military personnel or their family members authorized to access a military installation.

Pick Up Drivers
These team members are not required to have a security clearance, however are able to provided needed assistance in the O.I.® delivery process. They are licensed and insured drivers whose efforts include picking up sealed boxes and delivering them to drop off locations or directly to the security-cleared drivers just prior to the assigned drop off time.

GET INVOLVED

Outreach Team
These team members help spread O.I.'s® message to schools, religious and service organizations, social and business clubs, friends, family and anyone who is interested in obtaining more information about Interdependence, Teamwork and O.I.® Opportunities and training is available for presenting O.I.® to groups.

Student/Youth Group
O.I.® is committed to bringing the message of patriotism, cooperation and appreciation to our younger citizens. This team works with schools, teachers, parents and students in identifying and supporting age-appropriate ways of being a part of O.I.® A variety of opportunities are available and waiting to be created! From letter writing, to student-lead presentations, to classroom box coordination, please come aboard and bring your class with you.
